96-8. Mt Lyell No. 5. Menzies Creek. On the 19^th November 2003, this engine and the Guard’s Van (seen behind the engine) were returned to Tasmania for restoration and service on the West Coast Wilderness Railway, the rebuilt Mt Lyell Railway between Queenstown and Strahan.

96-9. Silverton Tramway Co. No. W22. Menzies Creek. It had just arrived from Broken Hill in this picture. In late 1990 it was transferred to the Pichi Richi Railway in Quorn, South Australia for restoration. The restoration proved to be too expensive so its identity (and some spare parts) was transferred to an almost identical locomotive, Western Australian Railways W916 for restoration, which was completed by April 2003. Meanwhile, the real W22 is stored on-site at Quorn.
